What is It?
This term is used liberally in SAP documentation, but its exact meaning is not well disseminated.
Multilevel planning is available in DP and CTM. It allows planning to take place at different levels in different dimension. An example of the product dimension would be..
product – product group – product family – brand
However, there are other dimension, and such as time. Dimension and level combinations can be planned, bringing multilevel planning. Examples of this would be:
- Product family by week
- Product by quarter
A less formal description of this capability would be “slice and dice planning.” To read about multilevel planning in SCM CTM, see this post.
